This is a virtually unique opportunity for an entrepreneurially minded private client advisor who wants to join a small niche practice with a view to equity participation and ultimately taking over the business. Our client is a successful niche private client advisory firm who service a high calibre client base with a focus on ?old money? wealthy families and their estates. The proprietor is keen to expand the business and consequently seeks a high calibre private client / capital taxes specialist to join him. You will probably have a Big 4 / Top 10 firm background and will be suitably qualified (ACA / CTA / STEP or a solicitor). You will have relevant advisory experience in the private client arena, including hands on experience of IHT planning and trusts and also a more broadly based tax background. The position will involve a substantial degree of client contact and will appeal to someone who not only has strong technical skills but who is a self-starter (with excellent inter-personal skills).

Our newest recruit, Ian Riley, joined Longman Tax Recruitment in October 2011 directly from a Big Four firm based in Manchester, where he was an M & A Tax Manager having trained as a chartered accountant and spent over six years with the firm. He specialises in advising candidates at all levels up to and including Senior Manager and deals with clients across the North of England. Ian is very well connected in the local market place and is able to offer candidates pro active career advice and insight. Joanna Longman is a VAT specialist and was previously Regional Head of VAT at one of the Big 4 firms before becoming VAT Director of a large local practice in the North West. She has been an active member of various chapters of the VAT Practitioners Group.
