The Role
Reporting to the Global Head of Tax, the successful candidate's responsibilities will include the following:
*Managing the tax position across the business operations to minimise the tax burden, including review and assessment of transfer pricing issues and opportunities
*Improving and maintaining the controls around tax reporting
*Managing the strategic and business tax risk across these operations
*Ensuring that all tax reporting obligations are appropriately complied with and managing enquiries raised by local tax authorities
*Providing a pro-active tax advisory service to all areas of the Group operations across Asia, particularly the local private equity business
*Conduct business analyses that are relevant for both tax and finance management, e.g. mapping of revenue streams/fee sharings, TP functional analysis, tax planning forecasts, etc.
*As Group operations restructure and evolve, supporting these developments, directing and working with external advisors on due diligence and structuring options
*Working closely with local Finance, Legal, Compliance and business colleagues to analyse, understand and improve the tax efficiency of the Group's operating model as it affects the America's region.
Skills Required
*Excellent academic qualifications, holding professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, Tax Adviser or Big 4 accounting firm or equivalent is required.
*Minimum 5 years or above relevant working experience; in particular experienced in private equity / international asset management / funds taxation
*Extremely strong analytical, communication, problem solving and technical abilities
*Self-motivated, proactive, organised, innovative and flexible, a good team player, and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
