Our client is an independent, multi-product investment adviser with approximately US $90 billion in assets under management. The company manages assets for a wide array of clients in every investor category, from individual to institutional, and across an extensive platform of hedge fund, private equity, listed equity and fixed income capabilities.
As the America's tax lead, you will take responsibility for the U.S., Canada and South America region. Reporting to the Global Head of Tax, your accountabilities will include;
*You will develop and improve existing reporting processes to streamline all business lines.
*Ensuring that all tax reporting obligations are appropriately complied with and managing enquiries raised by local tax authorities
*Managing the tax position across the business operations to minimise the tax burden, including review and assessment of transfer pricing issues and opportunities
*Managing the strategic and business tax risk across these operations
*Providing a pro-active tax advisory service to all areas of the Group operations across the Americas
*Organize and be responsible for regional tax and finance information calendar/database
*Conduct business analyses that are relevant for both tax and finance management, e.g. mapping of revenue streams/fee sharings, TP functional analysis, tax planning forecasts, etc.
*As the Group operations restructure and evolve in response to post sale developments, supporting these developments, directing and working with external advisors on due diligence and structuring options
*Working closely with local Finance, Legal, Compliance and business colleagues to analyse, understand and improve the tax efficiency of the Group operating model as it affects the region Participate in Global Finance work stream projects on ad-hoc basis.
The Candidate
*Ideally from a Big4 background, you will be CPA qualified or hold a similar accounting/ tax qualification.
*With a minimum of 5/8 years PQE in the asset management, private equity/ funds business, you will have excellent communication & analytical skills.
*A proactive self starter with the energy and 'roll the sleeves up' mentality to establish systems and manage a range of taxation issues
*Ability to work autonomously whilst retaining high levels of collaboration and enjoying a strong sense of team togetherness
*Ability to foster strong relationships within internal business units while building & maintaining the profile of taxation
*A self-motivated, proactive and innovative tax professional, you will have the gravitas and enthusiasm to deliver in this newly created role.
