Deloitte's in-house tax team is based in our Central Milton Keynes office and is responsible for providing tax advisory and compliance services to the Firm, covering:-
*Personal Tax issues for partners, former partners of Deloitte LLP and their families
*Expatriate, employer and employee tax issues for our globally mobile partners and employees
*Benefits reporting for Deloitte staff and employer compliance issues
*Corporate issues relating to Deloitte owned companies
*VAT compliance
We are seeking to recruit an Expatriate Tax Specialist, whose role will include dealing with the tax and Social Security issues of international secondees both into and out of the UK Firm, as well as managing the cross border compliance of overseas projects, including business and employee taxes, and Social Security for the individual project workers. Working within an in-house team will allow you the opportunity to deal with advisory and technical issues without the diversion of the multitude of administrative tasks encountered in a practice office. You will have a largely autonomous role with complete responsibility for managing your own workload and project based activity.
In addition to the technical and advisory aspects of the role, you will also have management responsibility for more junior members of the team, and the opportunity to become involved in training and development. As an Expatriate Tax Specialist, you will:
*Review and prepare UK tax returns for international secondees and project workers
*Advise on the expatriate tax issues surrounding our international secondees and partners
*Manage the Firm's overseas compliance responsibilities in respect of International projects
*Ensure that all secondees' relevant remuneration is included in the UK payroll for tax and/or NIC purposes
*Ensure compliance with International Social Security requirements
*Help manage a team of tax assistants in maintaining their own portfolio of clients and/or projects, and review assistants' work product as necessary
*Ensure deadlines are met and accurate records kept
*Provide assistance with the preparation & submission of P11ds and PAYE Settlement Agreement in respect of secondees and international project workers
*Liaise with other Deloitte departments as necessary
To be considered you must possess:
*ATT/CTA qualification or equivalent experience
*Experience of UK tax return preparation
*Staff management experience
*An ability to work on your own and as part of a team
*Clear and lucid communications skills
*An ability to deal with queries via both telephone and email
*Numeracy and literacy skills
*Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work accurately under pressure in order to meet deadlines
*Proficiency in Microsoft office packages
