Due to the retirement of a long serving member of staff, this leading independent firm of accountants based in North Manchester seek an experienced Mixed Tax Senior. Working approximately 3 days a week (and 4 during seasonal busy periods) the role will require strong tax compliance skills in both corporation and personal tax. The role involves servicing a varied portfolio of OMB?s, SME?s, HINWI?s and Directors, and the successful candidate will need to be able to deal effectively with both clients and HMRC. This role is likely to suit candidates with a background from a regional or local firm and it represents a challenging and interesting role for someone who doesn?t feel the need for a structured promotion path. ATT / CTA candidates will be well placed as will those who are ?qualified by experience?.

Our newest recruit, Ian Riley, joined Longman Tax Recruitment in October 2011 directly from a Big Four firm based in Manchester, where he was an M & A Tax Manager having trained as a chartered accountant and spent over six years with the firm. He specialises in advising candidates at all levels up to and including Senior Manager and deals with clients across the North of England. Ian is very well connected in the local market place and is able to offer candidates pro active career advice and insight. Given his background as an ACA having worked in tax he is also well placed to understand fully the needs of both clients and candidates alike and he offers a very professional and attentive service.
Joanna Longman is a VAT specialist and was previously Regional Head of VAT at one of the Big 4 firms before becoming VAT Director of a large local practice in the North West. She has been an active member of various chapters of the VAT Practitioners Group.
