This is an outstanding commercial tax opportunity for a 'first time mover' away from the profession. Working for this global multi-national group, this role reports to the European Tax Director and forms part of a small, but talented in-house tax team. The post is responsible for managing the groups tax risk management framework and transfer pricing arrangements in Europe as well as assisting in the European tax reporting process. Principal accountabilities will include:
Tax Risk Management - administer the tax risk management framework of the group as it applies to tax within Europe. Work with the Tax Reporting Director to contribute to the groups integrated tax risk management programme. Assess, develop and document the effectiveness of internal controls within the European group.
Transfer Pricing - Ensure the maintenance of appropriate documentation of intra-group transactions. Support the European businesses in the transfer pricing aspects of commercial initiatives.
Tax Reporting - Undertake a technical review of all tax effect accounting issues within Europe. Review the groups monthly performance reporting/forecast/budget income tax information. Pro-actively seek out and develop solutions to mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
Tax Compliance - Manage the outsourced tax compliance for the European entities to ensure the group meets its compliance obligations.В Provide support in managing tax audits.
Projects - Support the European Tax Director on specific issues and projects including acquisitions, divestments, and company re-organisations.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need a strong academic background and extensive exposure to European tax issues within a Big 4 advisory firm or out in commerce.
