This firmВ’s transfer pricing team are widely regarded as the market leaders dealing with an unrivalled client base of multinationals and UK groups with significant intra-group transactions. Their team comprises a mixture of economists ex-HMRC inspectors and tax professionals who work with the firm's clients to manage their effective tax rate (ETR) by helping them to align their business structure with their tax attributes. This involves making robust and practical recommendations on how: Intellectual property is developed, owned and exploited, Intragroup Financing Arrangements are structured and charged for; Supply Chain arrangements are established and implemented and Centrally Located Services are identified, allocated and charged. The Transfer Pricing team provides advice on all of these aspects, ensuring consistency between tax and commercial objectives and providing support in the event of a tax authority audit.
From an early stage you will attend client meetings to discuss their concerns with Transfer Pricing issues and help them to manage their effective tax rate. These opportunities will ensure that you gain invaluable experience that no other firm can offer.
The role involves:
В• Managing and assisting in the development of transfer pricing planning strategies, compliance programmes and audit defence tactics.
В• Drafting transfer pricing reports based on economic and financial analyses of the client's business to support their pricing position with HMRC
В• Managing junior staff in the development of comparability analyses
В• Supporting the Transfer Pricing Practice through the development of new services and analytical tools, and the assumption of practice management responsibilities
В• Cross selling transfer pricing services across the other service lines
To qualify you must possess:
В• 2:1 (or above) degree in Economics or related subject
В• ACA qualification
В• Strong oral and written skills
В• Experience in industry (with specific transfer pricing experience) or in international tax
В• Strong all round technical skills
В• Experience of dealing with the audit of tax (ideally including audit of transfer pricing) for statutory accounting purposes, and managing enquiry defence work
В• Knowledge of HMRC transfer pricing policies and procedures and OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines
В• Drive in relation to service delivery with strong commercial awareness
В• Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions
В• Exceptional client relationship management skills with the ability to develop quality outputs
В• Strong project management skills
