An opportunity for an in-house trust and estate manger to work for a longstanding central London based company with an unparallelled reputation in their field. With a wide and interesting client base, they are looking for a trusts and estates manager to join them in offering their customers the highest quality service they have provided for years, giving them the reputation they deserve.
The focus of this role will be in providing excellent customer care to their valued client based. The duties of the position will include:
o Creation of settlements in accordance with the trust deed and the law.
o Liaise with the HMRC solicitors and other agents as required.
o Administration of settlements, including tax returns and when appropriate distribution of trust assets to the beneficiaries, dealing with capital gains tax and inheritance tax and tax certificates as required but excluding investment reviews
o Administration of charitable trusts including the payment of grants, the preparation and audit of annual accounts and submission of annual returns to the charity commissioners
o The administration of deceased's Estates as executors or administrators of wills, codicils or on intestacy
o Ensure that all debts, taxation and legacies are properly discharged and residue is distributed
o Preparation of accounts, tax certificates and revenue returns.
o Writing Wills and Codicils for customers, staff and pensioners (not a pre-requisite)
o Assist with staff training as appropriate with specific responsibility for staff who report directly; conduct individual staff appraisals as agreed including setting goals, targets and identification of training needs.
