Steuerberater interested in relocating to the UK ? This FTSE100 in West London is recruiting

This FTSE100 global pharmaceutical giant is going through a strategic restructure of its corporate functions including tax, legal, finance and treasury. As a result, a new Shared Service Centre for EMEA has been assembled at new offices in West London.

Several new roles have been created including the need for a German speaking Tax Risk, Reporting & Compliance Manager. Your principle responsibility will be to oversee tax reporting and compliance processes for a portfolio of businesses aligned to a particular country or territory within EMEA.

It is therefore of paramount importance that you have the relevant language skills and are experienced with tax accounting principles. Business level German to high standard is particularly desirable as first or second languages to have at this stage in the recruitment project. You will either be UK trained or in possession of a Chartered Accounting qualification from Germany.

Key duties include:

Provide financial leadership and ensure legal, regulatory and tax compliance for specific financial reporting team
Ensure the provision of accurate and compliant financial and tax reporting services to businesses and external authorities
Prepare GAAP adjustments and complete statutory accounts template
Compile information required to draft statutory disclosures
Co-ordinate completion of tax disclosures by external advisers
Oversee the Group’s Tax reporting process, organising deliverables with external advisers
Co-ordinate corporate tax compliance processes on behalf of business including,
Analyse tax sensitive account codes to determine tax treatment
Estimate forecast profitability for the purposes of estimating interim tax payments
Monitor the tax accounts and reconcile balances back to tax authority records
Prepare withholding tax clearances and other ad hoc tax filings required
Monitor tax risks and review quarterly risk questionnaire
Review of draft indirect tax and statistical returns on behalf of businesses
Sales, purchase and miscellaneous transaction review including invoice sampling
Gathering relevant financial information to calculate relevant intra group pricing of products
Carry out historical review of legal entity profitability to ensure compliance with transfer     pricing policies
Co-ordination of tax and TP audits
Ensuring Market specific document retention requirements are met
Monitor service level agreements and ensure performance targets are adhered to
Work with the risk management function to ensure services provided are compliant

About you:

Qualified (CTA/ACA/ACCA) overseas equivalents such as “Wirtschaftspruefer”, “Steuerberater”,“Steuerfachwirt” or “Bilanzbuchhalter IFRS”
Experience in; German Corporate Tax and Statutory Accounting
Track record in tax accounting with an understanding of the differences between IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP
Financial modelling skills/high level of competence using Excel
Capable of leading change projects
