An exciting opportunity has arisen in a market leading US Tax practice in the US Offshore region, Bermuda! The firm are looking to bring on board an ambitious, commercial Senior Manager or Director to the practice. The region is renowned for an incredible standard of living, idyllic island lifestyle, low tax (around 6%) and an incomparable work life balance!
The role:
* Manage and coordinate the delivery of U.S. tax services, including the preparation and review of complex and specialised U.S. tax returns for (re)insurance entities, investment funds, trusts, and/or corporate executives and other high net worth individuals
* Leading the US Tax team in the planning and execution of significant tax activities and related projects as well as providing ongoing guidance and advice to the team;
* Coaching, mentoring and developing Tax staff providing timely feedback, both informally and through our performance appraisal process;
* Offering support and liaising with Tax Partner as well as providing leadership to the tax team when the tax Partner is out of the office.
Requirements:
* 8 - 15 years of relevant experience (preferably with a Big 4 firm) in the U.S. tax technical concepts relevant to (re)insurance companies, investment funds, foreign trusts, and/or corporate executives and other high net worth individuals;
* Licensed US CPA and a university degree and, ideally, an MBA or other business related Masters degree;
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to articulate complex information;
* Thorough knowledge of US Federal and State Tax Laws; particularly, international asset management and/or insurance
* Strong management and business development skills
