Our Client is a market leading insurance group based in Central London. Due to continued expansion they now require an International tax specialist to join their UK tax function.
Reporting into the Head of Tax key responsibilities include:
* Maintain an understanding of the company's global business developments, investments, activities and business strategies
* Provide support and advice to the group's M&A activities:
* Assist with structuring acquisitions
* Analysing tax impacts of repatriating funds
* Assist with reorganisations and disposals
* Reviewing due diligence reports
* Assist with the review of tax warranties and indemnities
* Establish and maintain relationships with relevant overseas offices to ensure timely communications regarding any transactions that may have tax consequences
* Assist with the evaluation of proposed and enacted local country changes to tax law and their local and group impacts
* Keep up to date with tax technical developments with a focus on overseas entities
* Assist with the management of group tax reporting and compliance with a focus on overseas entities
* Responsible for collecting and reviewing information from the overseas entities as part of the group tax reporting process and ensure compliance with the groups' minimum
Requirements include:
* Qualified tax professional with a minimum of 7 years' international tax experience, the majority of which relating to tax advisory work in a multinational or big-4 firm with international tax experience
* Knowledge of the tax regimes in the following areas particularly useful but not a prerequisite - US, Germany, Spain, AsiaPac, Israel and Finland
* Ability and flexibility to work well under tight deadlines and multi-task
* Ability to research complex tax issues and anticipate supplementary questions
* Ability to explain complex tax issues clearly and concisely
