Experiencing year on year growth, a new, rare and interesting role has been created within an established Tax function of over 10 professionals, for a VAT Accounting Manager.

Your new role
Reporting to the Tax Director and operating in a team of 3 dedicated to Indirect Tax, you will be responsible for the day to day activities in relation to VAT. This will include advisory projects, for example in respect to acquisitions, and ensuring the compliance is completed accurately and efficiently in relation to the group and a number of entities. In order to do this, you will complete internal control checks and reconciliations, co-ordinate 2 VAT Analysts, review and prepare returns, and liaise with external advisers. Further to this, you will be involved in reviewing statutory accounts, trial balance, p&l and forecasts for holding companies with support from others within Finance. The level of involvement outwith VAT will depend on the abilities of the successful individual.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will be an Indirect Tax specialist who has operated at Manager or Senior Manager level within a chartered accountancy firm or multi-national industry organisation. From this experience, you will demonstrate thorough knowledge of VAT and have a solid grounding in accounting. This will also be exhibited by holding a relevant qualification, such as CTA or preferably CA or ACCA. As a Manager, you will have the ability to lead a team, organise work, and drive proficiency. You will have a high attention to detail and excellent communications levels.
