Tax Partner (Federal, state, partnerships, international) – New York City

We have been mandated by a Top 25 national CPA firm to help them in hiring a talented Tax Partner for their 200 Partner, 450 staff firm in their New York City office. The tax team in New York consists of approximately 120 professionals who provide a range of services including federal tax, SALT, international, estate and trusts as well as transfer pricing. The firm has a friendly and collegial culture and they like to promote from within. This role is a succession plan role to take over from a retiring Partner and an existing book of business is not a requirement to be considered.

The firm seeks a high calibre individual who has operated at a Top 25 national CPA firm, possesses a broad and deep understanding of taxation with a focus on closely-held businesses; S-Corporations; Partnerships; LLCs; high net worth individuals and high level international tax issues. You will have deep experience reviewing and signing out complex federal and state tax returns as well as possessing a strong grasp of financial statements. Experience in representing clients at the IRS and state tax audits; appeals and dispute resolution, litigation support experience including assisting law firms on civil and criminal tax cases as well as experience in writing federal and state tax protests are all highly desirable.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to be CPA licensed, hold an MST or LLM in tax as well as possessing 10+ years’ experience within public accounting with the past few years operating in a Top 25 firm. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.
