AVP Tax (in-house) 6 month maternity cover - Dubai

A leading Bank in Dubai is looking for a qualified Accountant or Tax professional to join its Finance team for 6 months! Excellent role, if you are looking to get a foot into the inhouse tax market in the UAE or just landed in the region and looking for immediate work.

Required:

Good Indirect tax experience with preference for VAT knowledge
 Good understanding and ability to analyse the tax law and regulations to assess the applicability and tax impact.
 Strong numerical and financial interpretation skills to analyse and compute liability based on relevant provisions.
 Strong Excel skills to compile accurate reports and develop desired reports from source data.
 Good regional experience in the field of taxation (Financial Services)
 Good knowledge on accounting and banking products

You will be responsible for compiling/preparing/reviewing/providing information for VAT returns for UAE offices (Dubai and
Abu Dhabi) (Four VAT returns annually), Johannesburg office (Twelve VAT returns annually) and KSA office (Four
VAT returns annually)
You will assist in rendering advices on tax queries (as and when requested by the front offices / other departments)
Main interfaces/relationships.
You will manage key relationships include respective relevant tax advisors, administrators of regional offices, internal departments (local
and regional), and UK tax team.

You will review the WHT and CIF reports of the KSA office and ensure its filing in an accurate and timely manner.
Performing daily reconciliation of tax invoice with general ledger and also ensure that the same complies with VAT
regulations
Circulate daily exchange rates published by Central Bank of UAE to comply with VAT regulations
Review EIC (new or amendments) from tax reporting perspective.

Handle tax audit queries internal / external pertaining to UAE, A KSA and Johannesburg offices

This is a maternity cover and as you can see is focused on effective management of compliance (VAT). Regional experience is a plus and this is ideal for a person with circa 4 years of tax experience.
