The Opportunity
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working exclusively with this leading international business to successfully recruit a high performing and committed Group Tax Manager. Based in the company’s EMEA/APAC headquarters, close to Edinburgh, this person will deliver a full range of tax services to the business ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations whilst also developing policies to improve efficiency and mitigate the company’s tax exposure. Reporting to the Regional VP of Finance the Group Tax Manager will conduct the following key duties and responsibilities:
Tax Advisory
• Provide support to regional commercial teams in all aspects of tax guidance and advice
• Participate in worldwide tax planning and research
• Provide tax advice to the EMEA & APAC Group in all areas of tax including corporate, personal, acquisitions, IC loan funding, etc
• Review tax requirements for any proposed new geographical market
• Monitor IC transactions to ensure compliance with Transfer Pricing rules
• Seek tax efficiencies throughout the EMEA & APAC Group
• Keep fully up to speed with tax legislation in all EMEA & APAC regions
• Manage IC term loan funding requirements in most tax efficient manner
• Manage relationship tax advisors in all regions
• Manage all tax enquiries for EMEA & APAC regions
• Ensure Transfer Pricing rules and regulations in place in all regions and followed in line with global transfer pricing policy
Tax Compliance & Reporting
• Coordinate and manage the preparation and submission of tax computations and returns for all regional entities, branches, divisions as required
• Responsible for quarterly tax rate calculations under UK and US GAAP – all EMEA & APAC entities
• Responsible for deferred tax calculations – all regions and all GAAP’s
• Responsible for US GAAP FIN 48 considerations from EMEA & APAC perspective
• Ensure compliance with UK payments on account for all entities
• Withholding tax reporting and compliance in all entities, branches, divisions as applicable
Other duties
• Management of the regional tax team
• Train team on tax compliance software – Alphatax
• Provide support and training to regional finance on all aspects of taxation
• Link to US Tax team to respond to all queries
Qualifications and experience required
To be eligible to apply you must be a CA/ACCA, and/or CTA, qualified tax professional. With a minimum of 5/6 years PQE you will have experience of working in (or with) large multi-national groups with complex direct and indirect tax concerns. You should be comfortable being the go-to tax expert in a busy finance function, able to balance conflicting priorities and ensuring deadlines are appropriately planned for and met.
